MRS. MARIA PETERS

(Mrs.) Maria Peters of Calgary passed away on February 9. She was born on February 16, 1887 to Abraham and Helena DeFehr in Kronsweide, Ukraine. She emi grated from the Soviet Union to Acme, Alta. in 1923. Her husband passed away on March 20, 1947 and she then moved to Matsqui, B.C . in 1949. She was baptized and joined the Matsqui Mennonite Brethren Church in 1953. In 1973 she moved to Calgary with her daughter Helen. Those who came in contact with her remember her deep love for the Lord, her sincere faith, and her desire that others would come to know Christ. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Henry and Louise Peters of Vancouver and Valentine and Margaret Peters of Cal gary; by three daughters, (Mrs.) Susan Epp and Miss Helen Peters of Calgary, and (Mrs.) Mary Harder of Didsbury, Alta. ; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister (Mrs.) Margaret Reimer in the Soviet Union; and many nieces and nephews . Her brother Mr. C.A. DeFehr of Winnipeg passed away two days after her. The funeral service took place in the Foothills Mennonite Church, Calgary, with Rev. Leo Siemens officiating, on February 13.
