— Mrs. Margaretha Peters, 77, of the Hesston community, passed away on Monday at the Bethel Deaconess hospital after being a patient there for a week. Funeral services are to be held at the Peters home in Hesston and at the First Mennonite church of Buhler on Thursday afternoon, with Rev. P. R. Voth in charge. Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband, Cornelius Peters, four daughters and two sons. George Peters, a son, resides in Newton.

MRS. MARGARETHA PETERS

Mrs. Margaretha Peters, nee Dick,[line missing, following line duplicated in original] 31, 1870, and was called home to Glory on Aug. 18, 1947, at the Bethel Deaconess hospital, Newton, at the age of 77 years, two months, and 18 days. She had not been well lately but could attend to her household duties, so that her death came some what unexpectedly.

Mrs. Peters came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dick, in 1878. They settled at Henderson, Nebr., where she grew to young womanhood. Upon confession of her faith that Jesus was her personal Saviour, she was baptized by Elder Peter Friesen and received into the Mennonite church at Henderson.

On March 1, 1896, at Mountain Lake, Minn., she was united in marriage to Cornelius J. Peters. To this union seven children were born, four daughters and three sons. The family lived in Nebraska and Wyoming until 1918. Since then they have made their home in various parts of Kansas, during the last six years at Hesston.

The children will long remember the deceased as a kind, loving, unselfish mother who always had the best interests of each one at heart. She cared for them not only in their temporal needs, but had especially the spiritual welfare at heart. It was her fervent prayer to see all of them saved, which was her ardent hope to the last.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Cornelius J. Peters; her children, Margaret Nachtigal of Hesston,Helen Rector of Bucklin, Eva Thiessen of Julesburg, Colo., George Peters of Newton, Dan Peters of Great Bend, and Elizabeth Loepp of Assaria; three daughters-in-law, four sons-in-law; two sisters, Mrs. J. F. Hiebert, Lustre, Mont., and Mrs. A. F. Isaac, Fairbury, Neb.; two brothers, Frank Dick, Henderson, Nebr., and George Dick of Saskatchewan, Canada.
