Funeral Of Well Known Evangelist At Buhler, Sunday, Aug 5

REV. P. E. PENNER, WRITER, MINISTER AND FOUNDER OF MEXICAN MISSION

Buhler, Kansas. — Funeral services for Rev. P. E. Penner, 75, for about 50 years a traveling evangelist for the Mennonite Brethren conference, were held at the Buhler Mennonite Brethren church on Sunday afternoon, August 5.

Rev. Penner passed away at the Bethesda hospital at Goessel on Tuesday, July 31.

Before coming to Kansas Rev. Penner made his home in California. Of late he resided at the Mission Home in Hillsboro. He had not been in good health for some years.

Besides being an active church worker, Rev. Penner is also the author of a number of books and pamphlets on religious subjects, some of which are written in the Spanish language.

He was the founder of the "John 3:16 Frontier Mexican Mission" in south Texas and also rendered valuable service in assisting with the founding of other Mennonite Brethren Mexican missions.
