MARIE BERGMAN PENNER

Marie Bergman Penner, daughter of Peter and Katherine Kroeker Bergman, was born Dec. 12, 1896 in Corn, Okla. She grew to womanhood in the Corn-Weatherford area and was married to Frank J. Penner in Weatherford, Okla. on Jan. 24, 1915.

They settled on a farm southwest of Weatherford, where they lived until 1946 when they retired and moved to Weatherford. Mr. Penner passed away Dec. 12, 1956.

Mrs. Penner became a member of the Broadway Height Mennonite Brethren Church of Weatherford in August of 1960. She had been in ill health for the past four years. She passed away in the Southwestern Memorial Hospital Friday afternoon, Oct. 19, 1962.

She is survived by one son, Ervin [sic Irvin] Penner of Weatherford; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Gibben of Weatherford, Mrs. Lorene Smith of Clinton, Okla., and Mrs. Leona Atkinson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs Lydia Cornelson [sic Cornelsen], Mrs. Katie Milward and Mrs. Esther Penner, all of Weatherford, Mrs. Helen Renfro of Fairmount, Calif. and Mrs. Bertha Self of Clinton, Okla.; two brothers, Harvey Bergman of Bakersfield, Calif. and Bill Bergman of Weatherford.
