FRANK PENNER

Frank Penner was born November 17, 1871 at Warnau, West Prussia, Germany, the son of Heinrich and Marie Penner, nee Penner. He received his education in the village school.

He was baptized upon the confession of his faith on June 10, 1889 and became an active member in the Mennonite Church.

In 1891 he came to America together with his mother, two sisters and two brothers. He lived on a farm until 1911 when he offered to serve as custodian of the newly opened Mennonite Deaconess Hospital. He served in this capacity for almost 35 years.

Following a fall in 1949 he was a partial invalid but continued to take a keen interest in the work of the church, attending services whenever possible and continually praying for its work.

After a gradual weakening he quietly entered his eternal home early Tuesday, May 21,1956 at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 4 days.

He leaves at the time of his departure several nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
