DAVE PENNER

Dave Penner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Penner, was born Sept. 2, 1867, in Poland (Russia) and died in his home at Goltry, Okla., July 22, 1948, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 20 days.

He came to America at the age of seven and settled with his mother in McPherson county, Kansas.

In 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss Susie Becker, with whom he shared joys and sorrows for 58 years. The first 13 years they lived near Moundridge, Kans. In 1903 they came to Oklahoma settling southwest of Goltry and in 1906 moved to a farm northeast of Goltry, where he resided till death.

To this union were born 11 children, 4 sons and 7 daughters, of which 2 sons preceded here [sic] in death.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife of the home; two sons, Elmer and Lawrence of Goltry, seven daughters, Mrs. Ferd Buller, Mrs. Edd Schmidt, Mrs. Albert Buller, and Mrs. Roy Eck of Goltry; Mrs. Walter Jantz and Mrs. William Boese of Carrier; and Mrs. Sam Buller of Enid; 32 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Henry X. Smith of Montezuma, His six brothers, one sister, and two half-sisters preceded him in death.

Father was a hard worker, going through many years of pioneer life and striving to provide the needs of the family. He was in fair health till a few years ago especially in the last years did his health fail.

On July 17 he suffered a paralytic stroke and passed away five days later.
