ANNE PENNER

(Mrs.) Anne Penner, Osborne, Manitoba, died in an automobile accident on September 3, 1965. She was born August 24, 1918 in Steinfeld, South Russia, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Rempel. With her parents she migrated to Canada in 1924 and spent the rest of her life at Osborne. At the age of 17 she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. She, together with her husband, was baptized in the summer of 1943 and accepted into the membership of the La Salle Mennonite Brethren church (presently Domain).

On the 2nd of June, 1941 she was united in marriage to Peter Penner. The Lord gave them four children: Ruth 21, John 19, Alice 15, and Ernest 10. Besides her husband and chiIdren she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rempel, of Winnipeg; five brothers: Peter, Winnipeg; Neil, Beloit, Wisconsin; John, Bill, and Herman, Osborne; four sisters: Mrs. Jac. (Beth) Enns, Oak Bluff, Man.; Mrs. Jake (Mary) Klippenstein, Vancouver; Mrs. Gordon (Sarah) Reid, Pasadena, California and Mrs. Herb.(Elaine) Penner, Winnipeg. One brother, Henry, predeceased her in 1962.

In undivided love and devotion she filled her role as wife and mother. She was an active and very willing helper in the church and community. During the last year she found real joy in instructing a class of little children in Sunday school. The mourning family cherishes a living hope that they will be reunited in glory.

The funeral took place in the Portage Avenue MB Church, Winnipeg, September 7, with messages by Henry Hildebrandt, Caronport, and Wm. Schroeder of the Domain church. H. R. Baerg and J. B. Wiens also participated in the funeral and graveside services.
