text of obituary:

MRS. ANNA PENNER

Mrs. Anna Penner, the daughter of Gerhard and Aganetha Penner, was born on January 21, 1899 in the village of Rudnerweide, near Altona, Man. The Lord called her home on November 12 after a short period in a hospital in Winnipeg.

On April 15, 1926 she married Gerhard Penner, II widower with five children. Five children were born to the Penners, bringing the family to five sons and five daughters for whom she prayed and showed love and concern throughout her life. She was baptized on confession of faith in August, 1954 and joined the Marquette (Man.) Mennonite Brethren Church. Here she quietly served the Lord and was an example in faith and obedience to those around her. After her husband's death in 1968, the task of bringing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren before the Throne of Grace in prayer became hers alone, and much of her time was devoted to reading God's Word.

She leaves to mourn three sisters; one brother; five married daughters, Susan (Mrs. Aron) Lepp , Anne (Mrs. John) Esau, Kay (Mrs. John) Kroeker, Helen (Mrs. Jake) Kroeker, and Erna (Mrs. Ben) Stobbe; five sons, four of them married, George, Frank Walter, Albert and Kenneth; 32 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
