text of obituary:

AGATHA [sic AGATHE] PENNER

Agatha [sic Agathe] Penner was born to Heinrich and Agathe Penner on Jan. 27, 1879, in Beatrice, Neb. In her youth she attended the local Mennonite parochial school.

She became a member of the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice by baptism upon the confession of her faith on May 25, 1896, retaining this membership until the time of her death.

She spent many years serving others in the community wherever she was needed. In 1934, after her mother's death, she went to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Gustav Epp, and took care of her. In October 1945 she and her invalid sister moved to Beatrice where this unselfish and loving care was continued until Mrs. Epp died in June of 1949.

Since 1953 her eye sight had failed increasingly and she was practically blind during the last few years of her life.

She died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 79 years on Saturday morning, July5, 1958.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers, and is survived by two sisters, Helen and Emilie, one brother, John F. Penner, all of Beatrice, and a number of nieces and nephews.
