Former Teacher At Mission School Dies

Mt. Lake, Minn. — Funeral services for Miss Aganetha Penner, 45, a former teacher at the Hopi Mission School in Oraibi, Ariz., were held Sept. 12 at the Bethel Mennonite church here. Rev. Walter Gering and Rev. Don Kaufman officiated.

Miss Penner died at her home here on Sept 9 after an illness of about two years.

A native of Butterfield community, she was a graduate of the local high school, attended the Mr. Lake Bible School and Bethel College (Kansas), and held the B. S. degree from Mankato (Minn.) Teachers College. She had taught at Ormsby, Bingham Lake and in District 15 before going to Oraibi, where she was on the faculty from 1954 to 1967.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. David B. (Katharina) Penner, six sisters and four brothers.
