FRED PEKRUL

Fred Pekrul, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pekrul, was born April 3, 1873, at Poland, Russia and died at Goltry, Okla. at the age of 78 years, seven months and 15 days. At the age of 17 he with his parents moved to Halstead, Kans. and in 1895 he settled in Oklahoma three and one-half miles south of Goltry, where he lived until 1944 when he moved to Goltry.

On February 13, 1897, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Koehn, to which union were born six children.

He was baptized at the New Hopedale church in Meno in 1897. November 9, 1913, he transferred his membership to the Zoar Mennonite church at Goltry and became one of its first members. He held a number of offices in the church and remained a member until his death.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife; five sons, John, Harry, Arthur and Walter, all of Goltry, and Leslie of Dill City, Okla.; one daughter Dessie (Mrs. Rudolph Decker) of Meno; 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; four brothers. Reinhold and Gus of Goltry, Rudolph of Lahoma, Henry of Ringwood; and a host of friends. One sister and one grandchild preceded him in death.
