Two Fatal Accidents At Belleville, Pa.

GRANDFATHER AND THREE-YEAR-OLD BOY KILLED ON SAME DAY

Belleville, Penn. — Two separate accidents on Dec. 1 claimed the lives of Jefferson U. Peachey, 61, and three-year-old Paul Edwin Yoder, both of this community.

Mr. Peachey was killed while on a hunting trip with his brother, David E. Peachey, on Jacks Mountain near here.

The two men had separated, but it is believed his gun slipped from his lap while he was in a sitting position and struck a rock. It discharged and struck him in the abdomen and chest.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, with Aaron Mast and Jacob Weirich officiating.

The Yoder youth, son of Ambrose and Katie Kauffman Yoder was instantly killed when run over by a backing truck. Funeral services were conducted at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church Dec. 3 by Erie Renno and Louis Peachey.

The parents, two brothers and two sisters survive.
