Belleville Youth Died of Polio
Belleville, Pa. — Funeral services were held at a funeral home here Aug. 6 for Gideon Peachey, 16, who passed away at Harrisburg General hospital Aug. 3, six days after being stricken with infantile paralysis. He was the son of Nelda and Miriam Kauffman Peachey.
The services were in charge of Emanuel Peachey and Louis Peachey of the Locust Grove Mennonite church, of which he was a member.
On July 21 the youth had returned from a tour through Ohio and Kentucky with the Junior chorus of the Locust Grove church. However, there were no polio cases reported in the communities where they visited.
He is survived by the parents and two sisters, Anna Margaret and Sarah Marie.
