text of obituary:

REV ARON C. PAULS

Aron Cornelius Pauls was born in Burwalde, Russia in 1894 and passed away on March 6, 1972 at the age of 78 years, in Norfolk (Ont.) General Hospital following a second heart attack.

He accepted the Lord as his Saviour at the age of 15 and was baptized upon confession of faith and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. He was married to Maria Pauls in 1918 and ordained to the ministry in 1924. In 1926 the family came to Winkler, Manitoba. After some moving around during the depression years the family moved to Port Rowan, Ontario in 1937 and established their home where he farmed until his retirementin 1968. In the same year, they were able to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

He loved the church and sought to serve the Lord in the ministry of the Word as well as through his interest in Christian service activities. In his later years a hearing problem developed which caused him some difficulty, but inspite of this he was able to enjoy his retirement years and spent much time in visitation in the community.

His family will miss a father who loved his children and prayed much for them. At the same time they rejoice that he is now in the presence of the Lord. He leaves to mourn; his beloved wife Maria; one son, Henry and wife Luella; seven daughters: Katie (Mrs. Howard) Shuh; Lydia (Mrs. Jake) Reimer; Mary; Annie (Mrs. Henry) Teigrob; Alice (Mrs. Peter) Krahn; Margaret (Mrs. Jim) Newton; and Sue. Two daughters-in-law, Anne (Mrs. David) Redekop; Mrs. Una Pauls; 33 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Aron in 1955, and Cornelius in 1971.
