Little Girl Loses Fight Against Cancer
Reedley, Calif. — An eight-month struggle against a malignant brain tumor ended May 31 when five-year-old Kristine Pankratz died in Valley Children’s Hospital. Funeral services were held June 3 at the First Mennonite Church here.
The little girl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Pankratz, underwent surgery last October and again in spring, when part of the brain was removed. Despite the effects of her illness and the treatments, Kristine remained cheerful and found much joy in her first year of school.
