HELENA PANKRATZ

Helena Pankratz, daughter of Peter H. and Helena Wall Pankratz, was born Jan. 4, 1882 near Henderson, Neb. She received her education in the rural school near Henderson. On May 26, 1901 she was baptized by Elder Peter J. Friesen and was received as a member in the Bethesda Mennonite Church of Henderson where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Helena lived with the family on the farm until 1916 after which she went to Beatrice, Neb. to work in the Mennonite Deaconess Home and Hospital, where she served until some years later when the illness of her mother called her to help at home.

Her death fulfilled her desire that she need not remain on this earth long after the death of her brother, Peter, who died just six days earlier. Helena died on Sept. 29, 1962 attaining the age of 80 years, eight months and 25 days.

With her death the family of Rev. Peter H. Pankratz comes to a close.
