Fatally Injured On Visit in Illinois

EMANUEL OYER OF INDIANA FELL WHILE INSPECTING NEW HOUSE

Gridley, Ill. — Injuries suffered in a fall here four days earlier proved fatal on Aug. 24 to Emanuel Oyer, 56, of Woodburn, Ind. He suffered a basal skull fracture, and passed away at the Mennonite hospital, Bloomington, where he had been taken following the accident.

Mr. Oyer, a former resident of Gridley, had come here to visit relatives and to attend the Roth reunion when tragedy befell him. He was inspecting the new Levi Roth house now under construction when he accidentally stepped into a hole in the floor and fell to the basement.

The deceased was born near Gridley in 1894, the son of David and Lena Ehresman Oyer. He is survived by his wife, the former Mayme Raber, three daughters, and seven brothers.
