text of obituary:

CHRISTIAN A. NUSSBAUM,

Christian A. Nussbaum was born near Berne, Ind. on April 5, 1886, and departed this life Dec. 19, 1951, at his home at Kidron, Ohio, age 65 years, eight months and 14 days. In 1903 he came with his parents, the late Abraham and Eliza Neuenschwander Nussbaum, to Sonnenberg, Ohio.

On Oct. 13, 1910, he was married to Lizzie J. Lehman, daughter of John J. and Sarah Steiner Lehman. One daughter, Gladys, was born to this union. His wife died on March 11, 1914.

On July 13, 1915, he was married to Metta Wyss. They were also blessed with one daughter, Lillie. He retired from farming in 1940, but was still a willing worker and was employed at the Kidron sale barn for 11 years. The day before his death he shoveled snow around the sale barn, and during the night suffered a heart attack which proved fatal.

In early youth he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized and received into the Mennonite church, remaining a faithful member until death. He regularly attended the Kidron church, setting an example for others by being there on time, sitting in his place studying his Sunday school lesson or reading hymns in the song book until the meeting began.

He leaves his sorrowing companion, two daughters, Gladys (Mrs. Paul Kiener) and Lillie (Mrs. Roy Gerber), whose husband died a few years ago; six grandchildren; four brothers, Samuel, Albert and Amos of Kidron and William of Dalton; four sisters, Sarah, Mrs. Simon Hofstetter, Bertha, Mrs. Silas Lehman, and Ella, Mrs. Frank Wyss, of Kidron, and Salome, Mrs. David Wyss of Orrville; and a host of other relatives. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Kidron church on Dec. 22, Reuben Hofstetter and Allen Bixler officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
