Wife of Nappanee, Ind. Church Leader Dies

Goshen, Ind. — Mrs. Bertha I. North, 69, wife of Bishop Homer F. North of Nappanee, died Feb. 26 at Elkhart General Hospital where she had been under treatment for a heart ailment.

A native of the Nappanee community, she was married there to Homer F. North in 1916. He served as pastor of the North Main Street Mennonite Church for many years, and more recently as bishop of the congregation.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Mrs. Olen Eicher of Sarasota, Fla.; one son, Rev. Wayne North of Goshen; six grandchildren; one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at the North Main Street Church with Richard Yoder, the pastor, J. C. Wenger and D. A. Yoder officiating.
