TANK EXPLOSION FATAL TO LANCASTER COUNTY FARMER, FATHER OF 10

Smoketown, Pa. — The explosion of an acetylene tank proved fatal recently to Paul B. Nolt, 40, of East Earl, a member of the Old Order Mennonite church, Weaverland Mennonite church.

Mr. Nolt, who owned a small repair shop on his farm where he did repair jobs for neighbors, was cutting pipe for his brother-in-law when the tank attached to his acetylene torch exploded. A piece of metal penetrated his right facial bone and came out through his left eye.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia Ann, ten children, and seven brothers and sisters.
