JULIA NOFZIGER

Julia Ann Nofziger was born near Pettisville, Ohio on March 13, 1877. After an illness of five months she passed away at the Detwiler Memorial hospital at Wauseon, Ohio on July 18 at the age of 82 years, four months and five days. She lived her entire life in the vicinity of Pettisville.

On Nov. 15, 1894 she was united in marriage to Daniel W. Nofziger, with whom she experienced the joys and sorrows of life for over 63 years. Mr. Nofziger passed away on April 19, 1958. Since then she lived alone in her home. One son, Rollen, preceded her in death in 1918 as well as one brother, Edward, in 1953.

Surviving are one brother, Freeman of Windham, Ohio; one daughter, Dorothy, Mrs. Earl Roettger of Toledo; three sons, Orville of Fostoria, Walter of Toledo and Harley of Archbold; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a host of neices [sic] and nephews and the many friends she made during life.

She had a deep concern in caring for her husband and the last years of his life. After his decease, she had a lot of pleasure in her garden and with her flowers. She was diligent and industrious and was a challenge to her children as well as to her many visitors. While in the hospital she had Christian fortitude and patience during her suffering.

She was a member of the Pettisville Missionary church for many years and was regular in her attendance whenever possible. She worshipped there just the day before entering the hospital four weeks ago.

Funeral services were conducted July 21 at 2 p.m. at the Pettisville Missionary church by Rev. Vincent Rupp. Interment was made in the Pettisville cemetery.
