Electrocuted When Pipe Touches Power Line

WILL NISLY, FORMERLY OF KANSAS, KILLED IN ARIZONA ACCIDENT

Phoenix, Ariz. — Will N. Nisly, 42, formerly of the Partridge, Kan. community, was accidentally electrocuted at 4:00 p. m. on Monday, May 27, while working on the Brusally Ranch near Scottsdale.

Mr. Nisly, who was employed as an irrigator, was moving aluminum pipes. In his effort to clean mud out of the end of a 20-foot length, he raised it up vertically and contacted the electric line above him, resulting in instant death.

Vesper services were held Tuesday, May 28, at 7:00 p. m. in the Sunnyslope Mennonite Church, in charge of Joe Gingerich and Melvin Ruth, who then boarded the "Golden State" for Hutchinson, Kan. for further services and burial. Mrs. David Eberly accompanied Mrs. Nisly on the trip.

Born in Kansas

Will Nisly was born Nov. 18, 1914, near Hutchinson, Kan. He lived in Kansas except for a few years in Nappanee, Ind. and several shorter periods in Phoenix. He and his wife had come here on March 3 of this year.

On Nov. 12, 1936, he was united in marriage to Mattie Yoder of Nappanee, Ind., who survives. they had no children of their own, but provided a home for Mose Mishler until he went into 1-W service. He now resides at Nappanee.

Also surviving are his father, Noah Nisly of Hutchinson; three brothers, Moses of Hutchinson, Amos of Partridge, and Joe of Hartville, Ohio; and five sisters, Mrs. Melvin Yoder of Hutchinson, Mrs. Jacob Raber of Jerome, Mich., Mrs. Walter Funk of Pryor, Okla., Mrs. Eli Nisly and Ella Nisly of Hutchinson.

Mr. Nisly was a member of the Amish Mennonite Church and had an unusual gift of making and keeping friends by his sincere and humble friendliness.
