ROSA NISLY

Rosa Schrock Nisly was born near Hutchinson, Kansas, on January 14, 1892, and died at her home eight miles southwest of Hutchinson September 27, 1946, at the age of 54 years, eight months and 13 days.

Mrs. Nisly was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses S. Schrock of Independence, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Noah Nisly on December 18, 1913. To this union were born ten children: Will Nisly, Nappaanee, Ind.; Lydia, Mrs. Melvin Yoder, Hutchinson; Amos Nisly, C.P.S. unit, Veterans’ Hospital, Roseburg, Ore.; Anna Amanda, Moses, Joe, Rebecca and Ella of the home. She also leaves six grandchildren. One son, Abraham, preceded her in death when he was 13 months old. She also leaves her aged mother and a number of sisters and brothers.

The cause of her death was cancer. She had been in failing health for about ten months, but was able to attend church services, until four weeks before her death. She was confined to bed only about ten days. The children were all at her bedside when she fell asleep.

Funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon, September 30. with Bishop Jacob H. Miller and Willie Wagler officiating. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Mennonite church. Burial was made in the West Center cemetery.
