MRS. KATHARINA NIKKEL

Our mother, Katharina Friesen Nikkel, daughter of Jacob G. and Sara Penner Friesen, passed away at the Yuma hospital, Yuma, Colorado, on August 21, 1951, at the age of 67 years, eight months and 13 days, 24 hours after a cerebral hemorrhage.

She was born December 8, 1883, near Bradshaw, Nebraska. During her childhood the family moved to Joes, Colorado, where she resided until after the passing of her husband, Bernhard Nikkel, May 6, 1944.

As a young girl she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Mennonite Brethren church at Joes, Colorado of which she remained a true member until she was called to join the heavenly host.

On June 7, 1904, she was married to Bernhard Nikkel. To this union four sons and two daughters were born: Bertha, (Mrs. Paul G. Tschetter) of Denver, Colorado; Leonard, of Denver, Colorado; Paul, of Wheatridge, Colorado; Joe, of Denver, Colorado; William, of Wichita, Kansas; Martha, (Mrs. Raymond Millsap) of San Diego, California. We shall always remember her as a kind and loving mother, much concerned about the welfare of her children. She found much joy in caring for the sick and the aged.

She leaves to mourn her departure her six children, three daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, ten grandchildren, one brother, Herman, one sister, Mary (Mrs. Carl Nikkel) and a host of friends and relatives.

We shall miss our mother greatly but we mourn not as those who have no hope beyond this present life. We are looking forward to a blessed reunion with our parents in the Home above. — The Bereaved Family.
