text of obituary:

MARIE WEDEL NIGHTINGALE

Marie Wedel Nightingale was born to Benjamin and Suzanna [sic Susanna] Jantz Wedel, on July 2, 1884, in McPherson County, Kan.

She grew to womanhood in the environment of a Christian home and a Mennonite community.

On Dec. 22, 1909, she was married to Albert B. Nightingale of Fairview, Okla. Since their marriage, they made their home near Fairview.

Three sons and two daughters were born to this union. Her life was deeply saddened on Nov. 1, 1940, by the death of the youngest son, Arthur, who died suddenly and tragically at the age of 22.

Her life was mostly centered around her children and her home. Throughout her life, she had many struggles and trials; but her strong faith in God always helped her through the difficulty.

Our loving mother passed away at 7:20 o'clock Wednesday evening, Feb. 22, 1961, reaching the age of 76 years, seven months, and 20 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her companion of over 51 years Albert B. Nightingale, two sons, Oren of Isabella, Okla. and Frank of Owasso, Okla.; two daughters, Hilda (Mrs. Irvin Wedel) of Ringwood and Verna Nightingale of Fairview; two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Besides one son, her parents and all of her brothers and sisters have preceded her in death.

Mother left us with the full assurance that she has gone to meet her God, in that land of rest and peace. — The Family.
