Arthur Nightingale

Arthur, youngest son of Albert and Marie Nightingale, was born March 16, 1918, near Fairview, Okla. He was always a sweet and loving child. During his childhood days he attended the district school.

In the spring of 1932 he graduated from grade school. He entered Fairview high school the next fall and graduated four years later. Arthur was one of the five honor students of the class of 54 [sic].

In April, 199, he was employed as clerk in the Floyd Hotel in Fairview. He remained there until February of 1940. Then in March he accepted the position as manager of the Fairmont ice cream store, where he made many friends. Through his honesty, loyalty and sincerity he was promoted to a store in Oklahoma City in September.

It was while he was there that he was killed in an automobile accident on November 1, 1940.

He reached the age of 22 years, seven months and 15 days.

His two grandfathers, one grandmother, two aunts, two uncles, and 10 cousins preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his deeply bereaved father and mother; two sisters, Mrs. Ervin Wedel and Verna of the home; two brothers, Oren and Frank; and one brother-in-law, Ervin Wedel; three little nephews, Jerry Dee, Glen Dale, and billy Ray Wedel; one grandmother, Mrs B. F. Nightingale, eight aunts and six uncles, besides many other relatives and friends. — The bereaved parents.
