● Edna S. Nickel, 74, of North Newton, died July 18 at Newton Medical Center. She was a member of Faith Mennonite Church in Newton. Survivors include sons Richard of Hillsboro and Dwayne of Bristol, Ind.; daughter, Donna Venso of Newton, brother, Alden Schroeder of Canton; sisters Margaret Riesen of Wichita, Ester Ratzlaff and Marlene Schroeder, both of Goessel, and Evelyn Banman of Hillsboro. The funeral was July 21 at Faith Mennonite church with Earl Sears officiating.
