Mrs. Lena Nichols, the daughter of Benjamin and Katherina Voth Koehn, was born near Moundridge, Kansas, October 31, 1880. With her parents she came to Oklahoma in about 1894 and they made their home north of Meno, Okla.
August 15, 1897, she was baptized upon her conffession [sic] of faith in Jesus, by Elder Johann Ratzlaff and was taken in as member of the New Hopedale church. Here she remained a member until the Lord called her home.
She was married to John Nichols on Aug. 14, 1902, with whom she shared joy and sorrow over 40 years.
Her health has been failing for some time. for almost a year she was more or less seriously ill.
On September 29 she had a stroke from which she did not recover, nor regain consciousness. At 8:10 P.M., September 30, 1942, the Lord called her home, at the age of 61 years and 11 months. She leaves to mourn her loss: her bereaved husband, 3 sons, Virgil, Meno, Okla., Chester, Helena, Okla.; Victor, Jet, Okla.; 2 daughters; Rubina (Mrs. Volture [sic Voltaire] Mueller) Meno, Okla.; Genieva (Mrs. Marion Tally) of Enid, Okla.; 3 daughters-in-law, 2 sons-in-law, 8 grandchildren, an aged mother (Mrs. Ben P. Koehn) Meno, Okla.; one half brother, Andrew Koehn of Winton, California; 3 brothers: David and Peter of Meno, Okla.; Jacob of Carrier, Okla.; 8 sisters, Mrs. Mary Pekrul, Goltry, Okla.; Mrs. Eva Eck, Meno, Okla.; Mrs. Anna Johnson, Meno; Mrs. Carolina Kahn, Lahoma, Okla.; Mrs. Susie Smith, Drummond, Okla.; Mrs. Lydia Smith, Lahoma; Mrs. Martha Smith, Enid, Okla.; and Mrs. Ruth Wedel, Meno, and many other relatives and friends.
