MRS. ROSANNA NEUHAUSER

Mrs. Rosanna Steiner Neuhauser, 93, one of the oldest residents of Berne, Ind., died at 8:35 a.m. Dec. 28, at the Berne Nursing Home where she had been a patient for several months. She was the widow of the late Jacob Neuhauser. Mrs. Neuhauser had been bedfast for five months and in a serious condition for many weeks.

A lifelong resident of this community and widely known, Mrs. Neuhauser was born in Hartford township, July 28, 1863, the daughter of Peter C. and Verena Stauffer Steiner. She was married to Jacob Neuhauser April 9, 1887, in Vera Cruz. Mr. Neuhauser died in 1941. Before entering the nursing home, Mrs. Neuhauser resided with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Neuhauser at 406 W. Main Street.

Surviving are six sons, Edwin Neuhauser, Berne; Harry, West Unity, Ohio; Henry, Markle; Ezra, David and Menno, all of Napoleon, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Ella) Flueckiger, Fort Wayne; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and a brother, Amos Steiner, Leo.

A daughter, Mrs. Harry (Frieda) Sprunger, five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Neuhauser was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite church where services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30. Rev. E. G. Steiner officiated. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
