PETER K. NEUFELD

Peter K. Neufeld of Kennedy Heights, B.C., was born in Alexanderfeld, Russia, on May 17, 1890. He spent his childhood there and received a limited amount of formal education there also. In 1904, at the age of 14, he migrated to Canada along with his parents and family. They settled in southern Saskatchewan near Kelstern.

He received Christ as his Saviour early in life and at the age of 16, in 1906, he was baptized and received into the church. He served the church in various capacities, enjoying especially the work of leading the chair.

On May 28, 1916, he married Tina Redekopp with whom he shared joys and sorrows for 34 years. The Lord blessed their union with five sons and three daughters, of which one son, Henry, predeceased him. In 1950 his wife went to be with the Lord. In 1951 he married Greta Voth, a widow with four children, and together they settled near the Kennedy Heights Church. The Lord granted them 17 years together during which they experienced both valleys and heights. He passed away October 10 after a lengthy illness.

Peter Neufeld leaves to mourn his loving wife, Greta; four sons, Paul, Adolf, Otto and Ben Neufeld; three daughters, (Mrs.) Hilda Thiessen, (Mrs.) Alma Hoffman, and (Mrs.) Rosella Goertz; three sons through his second marriage, Jacob, Henry and Peter Voth; and one daughter, (Mrs.) Gertrude Pulak.
