Death Claims Corn, Okla. Pioneer

Corn, Okla. — Death removed one of the pioneer settlers of the Corn community with the passing of John A. Neufeld, 73, in a Weatherford rest home on March 20.

Funeral services were conducted at the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church on March 25, with Rev. J. P. Kliewer officiating.

Mr. Neufeld was born at sea while his family was en route from Russia to the united Stats. They settled in the Corn community, and he had lived here since except for one year in Kansas. Survivors include his aged mother, Mrs. Sarah Neufeld of Reedley, Calif., six daughters, one son, 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Neufeld resided at the home for aged here for about ten years, where he was confined to a wheel chair due to an infirmity of the lower limbs.
