MRS. HELEN NEUFELD

Mrs. Helen Neufeld, daughter of Frank and Katherine Tessman Fast, was born in Carson Township, in Cottonwood County, Minn. on Nov. 30, 1888. On Pentecost Sunday, 1911 she was baptized into the membership of the Bergfelder, now the Gospel Mennonite Church, by Rev. D. P. Eitzen.

On Aug. 27, 1911 she was united in marriage to Karl Falk. To this union five children were born. After their marriage they settled on a farm three miles east of Delft, Minn. for four years. In 1915 they moved to Mt. Lake. In 1923 they moved on a farm near Emerson, Man. In 1925 they moved to Pembina, N. D., also on a farm, in the Red River Valley. It was here that her husband passed away on May 14, 1942. In 1944 she left the farm and came back to Mt. Lake.

On July, 1946 she was united in marriage to Aaron Sukau. On Jan. 30, 1955 her husband passed away.

On June 14, 1956 she was united in marriage to George B. Neufeld.

Mrs. Neufeld had been in ill health for a number of years. On Oct. 9, 1964 she was hospitalized in the Mt. Lake hospital for five weeks. Her health was improving, but she was re-admitted to the hospital on Dec. 24, 1964. She passed away very peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 3, 1965, reaching the age of 76 years, one month and three days.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Edward at Bath Gate, N. D., Edwin at Karlsbad, Minn.; three daughters, Katherine, Mrs. Alfred Schroeder, Audubon, Minn., Mrs. Leona Hewitt, Walhalla, N. D., Alma, Mrs. Joe Craig, Bath Gate, N. D.,; one sister, Marie, Mrs. Cornie Spenst, Meadow Lake Sask.; one brother, Frank, Walhalla, N. D.; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Tina, Mrs. John C. Wiens, and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Neufeld transferred her membership to the First Mennonite Church of Mt. Lake in 1911, was re-instated in 1946 and has been a faithful member till her death.
