DAVID HENRY NEUFELD

David H. Neufeld was born in Stavropol Russia, on July 1, 1884, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Neufeld. He accepted the Lord as his Saviour in early youth and was baptized when he was 18 years of age. He came to Canada in 1903 and worked on a farm in Manitoba for several years. He had homesteaded at Hodgeville, Sask., and was married at Herbert, Sask., on October 18, 1908 to Helena Braun. They moved to the Herbert district later and farmed there until 1933, with the exception of three years during which they lived at Orland, Calif. After a short stay in Alberta they moved to B.C. in 1934 where they had farms at Abbotsford and Dewdney. Following retirement in 1949 they moved to Aldergrove district where they lived until his wife's death in 1965. They had shared joys and sorrows for 56 years,

On October 1, 1967, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Helena Klassen. The Lord saw fit to call her home on November 16, 1967. After this he moved to Dewdney to live with his son Henry. Mr. Neufeld spent much time reading God's Word, studying prophesy and listening to Christian programs. He remained in good health and possessed a sound mind until the time of his death.

He died at Dewdney on December 14. The funeral was in the East Aldergrove Church with Rev. C.D. Toews in charge.

Mr. Neufeld is survived by five sons, Frank at Grimshaw, Alta., William at Abbotsford, B.C., Henry at Dewdney, Dave at Aldergrove and Ernie at Hythe, Alta.; and one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Helen) Klassen at Mount Lehman, B.C.
