Mrs. Johann Neufeld

Mrs. John Neufeld, born Agatha Klassen, was born on Sept. 1 1844 in Petershagen, South Russia, where she spent her youth and received her schooling. In the year of 1865 she was converted and was baptized by Elder Dietrich Warkentin and united with the Schovensee Congregation. In the year of 1867 she was united in marriage to Johann Neufeld. To this union nine children were born, three sons and 6 daughters of which one daughter died in infancy. They came to America on May of 25, 1877 and lived on a farm near Inman, Kansas where they resided for 36 years. In the year 1913 they moved to Inman.

Mr.. Neufeld passed away on Aug. 22, 1914. On Sept. 29, 1926 she moved to Garden City, Kansas, where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Abr. Reimer, until her death which occurred on Sept. 26, 1928.

She leaves to mourn her departure 9 children, 4 sons-in-law, 4 daughters-in-law, 2 sisters, 49 children and a number of stepchildren. She reached the age of 84 years and 25 days.

The remains were sent here and funeral services were held at the Bethel Church last Sunday. Rev. Klaas Kroeker officiated and was assisted by Rev. John Esau, Rev. Peter Block and Rev. A. P. Neufeld.

A men's octette rendered a number of beautiful selections. The remains were laid to rest in the South Cemetery. — Inman Review.
