text of obituary:

ABE. N. NEUFELD

Abe. N. Neufeld, my husband and our father, was born at Inman, Kansas on Dec. 23, 1893. He departed this life on August 25,1958, at the age of 64 years, eight months and two days.

On June 7, 1916, he was united in holy wedlock with Anna Kroeker of Inman, Kansas. this union of 42 years was blessed with two children, a daughter Lavina and a son Vernon.

In his early youth, under the ministry of Rev. Frank Wiens in the Zoar K. M. B. Church of Inman, father made a decision to follow the Lord. This experience was described by his father as being a definite crisis experience with God. Thereupon he was baptized and became a member of the Zoar K. M. B. Church. About 12 years ago, under the ministry of Pastor J. K. Warkentin, father made a new commital of his life to God.

In the years he has been with us we have learned to love him as a devoted father and a loving husband. he always made provision for us to the best of his ability. He has been faithful in providing the opportunities of spiritual help and blessing for us by taking us to the house of God.

Father received joy from the preaching of God's Word and certain spiritual services have meant a great deal to him. Rev. Charles E. Fuller was one of the most loved ministers of the Gospel and he seldom failed to listen to “The Old Fashioned Revival Hour.” He attended at least part of the Fuller Week at Mount Herman each year for the past eight years.

Father was quite well most of his life, but in recent years has developed some physical ailments possibly related to his heart. He spent his last day on earth attending the services of the church where he so regularly occupied a pew in the same section. After the evening service he suffered a stroke which caused him to be hospitalized during the night, and which also caused his death at 11:00 o'clock the next morning.

His parents and two brothers, David and Edward, preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his sudden departure his wife, Anna; his daughter, Lavina(Mrs. Wallace Feil) of San Jose, Calif.; his sons, Vernon, of San Bruno, Calif.;;one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law; five grandchildren; his step-mother, Mrs. Mary Neufeld of Reedley, Calif.; five brothers, John of Blaine, Wash., Ben of Dinuba, Calif., Curt of Reedley, Calif., Jake of San Jose, Calif., Nick of Sacramenta [sic Sacramento], Calif.; three sisters, Agnes Neufeld of Dinuba, Calif., Anna (Mrs. Nick Friesen) of San Jose, Calif., and Elizabeth Neufeld of Dinuba, Calif. He also leaves many other relatives and a host of friends. — The Family.
