Prominent Businessman Dies at Grabill, Ind.

FOUNDED INSURANCE FIRM, SERVED AS PRESIDENT OF MISSION BOARD

Berne, Ind. — Albert Neuenschwander, 76, prominent business man of the Grabill, Ind. community and chairman of the Congo Inland Mission Board for20 years, died at his home there early Sunday, April 5, after suffering a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Evangelical Mennonite Church of Grabill, with Rev. Don Klopfenstein in charge.

Mr. Neuenschwander was one of the first residents of Grabill and served as postmaster there for a number of years. In 1917 he founded the Brotherhood Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and served as chairman of the board of directors. He had been president of the Grabill Bank since its founding in 1946 and was active in the Evangelical Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; one daughter, Mrs. Cyril H. Eicher of Fort Wayne; one sister, Mrs. Leah Amstutz of Grabill; one brother, David of Grabill; and two grandchildren.
