KENNETH E. NAUMAN

Kenneth E. Nauman, 72, of Arcadia, Fla., died Sept. 15, 2009, of cancer. He was born May 2, 1937, to Jacob W. and Florence Shearer Nauman in Lancaster, Pa.

He married Miriam Weaver and moved to Florida to serve in Mennonite Voluntary Service with migrant ministries in 1958.

He pastored churches for 40 years in Homestead, Sarasota and Arcadia until his retirement. He also served as conference minister for Southeast Mennonite Conference in recent years. He was a member of Pine Creek Chapel in Arcadia. He was a charter member in the formation of the Redlands Christian Migrant Association and a charter member of the Arcadia chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Miriam; a son, Dale Nauman of Bradenton; two daughters, Donna Weaver of Sarasota and Bonnie Ropp of Kalona, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Sarasota and at Hernley’s Mennonite Church in Manheim, Pa. Burial was in the Hernley’s cemetery.
