Peter J. Nachtigal

On Sept. 6, 1862 Peter J. Nachtigal was born at Waldheim, South Dakota and quietly passed away on Jan. 1, at 2:00 in the morning. In his twentieth year he affiliated himself with the Hoffnungsau Church and in 1912 changed his affiliation to the Ebenezer Church. He has fought the good fight he has kept the faith. His Christian life was exemplary. He was sincere and earnest.

On Dec. 1, 1897, he was united in marriage to Anna Regier and this happy union ended with the death of the wife after a wedded life of 19 years and 7 months. To them 7 children were born of which 5 have departed before him. On the 21st of Nov. 1920 he was again wedded to widow Helena Thessman.

He has enjoyed almost perfect health most of the time during his life. However, about four weeks ago his health began to fail. About a week later he suffered from a severe stroke of paralysis, paralyzing the left side completely. During the illness he suffered intensely.

The deceased has reached the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 29 days and is survived by his mourning widow, one son, one daughter, 3 step-children, 8 grandchildren, one sister and a host of friends. — Buhler Review.
