Member of Elkhart, Ind. Church Dies at Age 96

Elkhart, Ind. — Mrs. Lydia A. Mumaw, widow of John Mumaw, died Feb. 9 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ira Hoover, of Route 3, Elkhart. She reached the age of 96.

A native of Putnam County, Ohio, she was married to Mr. Mumaw at Elida, Ohio in 1893. He died in 1940. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Hoover are three sons, Enos and Henry of Elkhart and Aaron of Wakarusa; and another daughter, Mrs. Elmer Tyson of Wakarusa.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at the Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart, with Rev. Howard Zehr officiating.

MRS. LYDIA A. MUMAW

Mrs. Lydia A. Mumaw, 96, who made her home with her children, died Feb. 9 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hoover of Route 3, Elkhart, Ind. She had been bedfast for some time.

She was born Feb. 28, 1866, in Putnam County, Ohio. She married John Mumaw on March 9, 1893, in Elida, O. They came to Indiana in their early married years and residede [sic] in Elkhart [sic line duplicated] married years and resided in Elkhart 1940.

Surviving are five children, Enos and Henry of Elkhart, Aaron and Mrs. Elmer Tyson of Wakarusa, Ind., and Mrs. Hoover at whose home she died.

Mrs. Mumaw was a member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church, Elkhart, where the funeral was conducted by Rev. Howard Zehr. Burial was made in the Prairie Street cemetery.
