KARL J. MUELLER

Karl J. Mueller, son of Henry and Kathryn Stauffer Mueller, was born on a farm north of Halstead, Kansas on Sept. 12, 1897. He died in a rest home in Wichita, Kansas on Dec. 10, 1957, having reached the age of sixty years, two months and 28 days. Although his health had been failing in the last two years, his death came unexpectedly.

He spent his entire life on the farm in the Halstead community, with the exception of the last two and one half years during which time he was confined to the hospital and rest home in Wichita. Although he suffered from a physical handicap all his life, he was able to manage his own farm operations for many years.

Karl received his elementary training in the Fiarview [sic Fairview] District School north of Halstead. For two or three months every year for a period of about five years he also attended the German Bible School in Halstead which was sponsored by the Mennonite Church.

Dec. 13, 1957, with his pastor, Rev. Roland R. Goering, officiating. A quartet comprised of Adin Holdeman, Willard Holdeman, Wilford Holdeman and Lester Yost sang. Mrs. Harvey Vogt was the organist.

Burial was in the family lot in the Halstead Cemetery.
