ESTHER HELEN MUELLER

Esther Helen Mueller, daughter of Henry and Katherine Stauffer Mueller, was born Feb. 3, 1901 on the farm four and one-half miles north of Halstead, Kan. She passed away unexpectedly at the home of her aunt, Anna Stauffer, in Halstead the evening of Sept. 9, 1963, having reached the age of 62 years, seven months and six days.

A lifelong resident of the Halstead community, she attended the Fairview District School, one year in the Halstead City grade school, and also the church school in the summertime for a number of years. Later she studied music at the Power-Meyer Conservatory of Music, Fairmount College, Wichita.

Esther lived on her parents' farm until Sept. 3, 1955 when she came to live with her aunt, Anna Stauffer in Halstead.

She was preceded in death by her father in July of 1943, her mother on May 7, 1931, and her brother Karl Dec. 10, 1957.

Esther was baptized and became a member of the First Mennonite Church of Halstead on April 16, 1916, by Rev. J. E. Amstutz, remaining a faithful member until her death.

She leaves to mourn her departure her aunts, Anna Stauffer, Katherine and Carolyn Mueller. Mrs. Lydia Mueller and Mrs. Elizabeth Mueller, all of Halstead; one uncle, Pete Mueller of Moundridge; a number of cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Mennonite Church in Halstead on Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Dr. D. C. Wedel of Winfield officiating. She was laid to rest in the Halstead Cemetery.
