— Mr. and Mrs. Pete R. Kaufman of North Newton received word Saturday of the death of Mrs. Kaufman's mother, Mrs. Peter Mueller, at Los Angeles, Calif. They left the following day to attend the funeral, at the Emmanual [sicImmanuel] Mennonite church, for which the date had not yet been set at that time. The family was awaiting the arrival of a son, Harold Mueller, who was on the way home from Europe. Harold's boat, the S.S. United States, docked at New York Tuesday morning and he was expected to fly home from there.

Anna Schowalter Mueller, daughter of John J. and Magdelina Funk Schowalter, was born April 9, 1888, at Daubling, Germany.

On Dec.16, 1908, she was united in marriage with Peter Mueller of Halstead, Kansas, with whom she shared the joys and sorrows of married life for 48 years. To this union were born seven children — four sons and three daughters.
