LOUISE E. MOYER

Louise Elizabeth Moyer was born May 18, 1890, in Moundridge, Kan., to Christian and Elizabeth Latscher. She died Jan. 1, 1989 at age 98.

In 1901 she moved with her parents to a farm south of Deer Creek, Okla., where she grew up. She attended Antelope School and later furthered her education at Edmond, Okla.

She was baptized into Deer Creek Mennonite Church on Nov. 11, 1906.

On Jan. 1, 1915, she was married to William Q. Moyer. They lived on a farm west of Deer Creek until July 1981 when they moved into Hillcrest Manor in Blackwell. Her husband died June 9, 1983.

She was a former member of the Better Homes and Garden Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances (Mrs. John) Linn of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary (Mrs. Roland) Duerksen of Oxford, Ohio; two sons, Allan Moyer of Deer Creek and Floyd Moyer of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, William Latscher of Deer Creek; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Latscher, Emma Latscher, Ruth Pittman and Clara Pittman, and three brothers, Arthur, David and Paul Latscher.

Funeral services were held Jan. 7, 1989, at Deer Creek Mennonite Church, with Peter Neufeld officiating. Interment was in Bayard Cemetery, Deer Creek.
