MRS. FRED MORITZ

Millie (Nikkel) Moritz was born Aug. 23, 1897 in Hugo, Colo. She was raised from infancy by Henry and Agatha (Krase) Nikkel. They provided for her a deeply spiritual home. She resided with her parents at Loveland, Colo. where she received her education and grew to womanhood.

On Aug. 23, 1914 she realized her lost condition and her special need of the Lord, and accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. One week later she was baptized by Rev. L. H. Coffman and received into the First Baptist Church, Loveland, Colo.

In 1915 she moved with her parents to the Caddo, Okla. community and transferred her membership to the Mennonite Brethren Church there. later she moved to the Corn, Okla. community, and transferred her membership to the M. B. church of Corn, whose faithful member she remained until her departure.

On Jan. 7, 1917 she was married to Fred Moritz. The Lord blessed this union with three daughters. We established our home on a farm near Colony. In 1951 we moved to Corn.

Mother loved the church, the Bible and the fellowship of the Saints. She spent much time in prayer, especially for her children and grandchildren.

In the last few years her health began to fail. she suffered much when she had to submit to surgery three times. During this time she found great comfort in the 23rd Psalm, which she had illustrated on her bedroom wall. On Sept. 10, 1963 she was taken to Memorial Hospital, Cordell, where the Lord called her to her heavenly reward on Sept. 18, 1963.

She reached the age of 66 years and 25 days. She left to mourn her deeply bereaved husband; three daughters, Evangeline (Mrs. Erwin Reimer) of Corn, Opal (Mrs. Ed J. Vogt) of Weatherford, Marjorie (Mrs. Verno Reimer) of Corn; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Keihn of Clinton, and Mrs. Louise Lepply of Abbotsford, B.
