Seven-Year-Old Girl Dies Under Wheels of School Bus

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — An unusual accident involving a school bus recently claimed the life of seven-year-old Ruth Ilene Miller, daughter of Min. and Mrs. Mose J. Miller of rural Millersburg, O.

The little girl and two sisters waited in front of their home for the bus which was to take them to Shiloh Christian School, a parochial school near Benton. As the sisters were going to board the bus, Ruth Ilene apparently slipped and fell. Her sisters thought she had returned to the hosue. The bus driver, unaware that she was not on the bus, started up and continued on to the school. Later it was found that the bus wheels had passed over her, causing instant death. Eli L. Mast, the driver, is also the teacher at the school.

Funeral services were held at the Fryburg Beachy A. M. Church, with Bishop Elden [sic Eldon] L. Troyer of Plain City officiating.
