MENNO L. MILLER

Menno L. Miller, son of Levi L. and Fanny (Chupp) Miller, was born April 18, 1875, in Elkhart Co., Ind.

He moved with his parents to Newton Co., Ind. and later to Arthur, Ill. He was married to Katie J. Yoder of Arthur Dec. 24, 1899. They were both members of the Old order Amish church. They always lived on his wife's home farm except the last 10 winters when they spent a few months in Florida.

He died Dec. 27, 1955, age 80 years, nine months and eight days. He lived in matrimony 56 years and three days.

He leaves to mourn his departure his heart-broken wife; two sons and four daughters, Fanny, wife of Lewis M. Miller of Kalona, Ia., Susie, wife of Sam Kauffman, Anson, married to Bertha Kauffman, Mattie, wife of David S. Beachy, Jr., Leffa, married to Lizzie J. Schrock, Katie Ann, wife of Sam E. Petersheim, all of Arthur, Ill.; 22 grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren.

He was the last of Levi L. Miller's family of seven children, Simon, Mattie, Gideon, Katie, Leff, Menno and Anna having preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the home place by Bishop Noah B. Schrock and Bishop Obed Deiner. The 90th Psalm was read by Bishop Sam N. Beachy.

His ailment was heart trouble, from which he suffered several years, and hardening of the arteries. He was in the hospital seven weeks. We mourn, but not as those who have no hope. He often prayed that God's will be done, and said he was ready for God's call. — Mother and Children.
