MAHLON E. MILLER

Mahlon Edward Miller, 76, a longtime resident of Wauseon, Ohio, and most recently of Bradenton, Fla., died May 2, 1993, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio, after a long illness.

He was born June 4, 1922, near Wauseon, a son of Gideon and Lena (Nofziger) Miller. He married Irene Liechty at Leo, Ind., Feb. 21, 1943. They observed their golden wedding anniversary while Mahlon was a patient at Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital.

He accepted Christ in his youth and became a charter member of North Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon. In Florida he attended Bayshore Mennonite Church, Sarasota.

He founded M. E. Miller tire Co. near Wauseon in 1970 and served as president until 1985, retiring in 1992. Previously he was self-employed in farming, in poultry and feed business and a trucking business. He was involved in Mennonite Central Committee canning projects, Mennonite Disaster Service and Mennonite Economic Development Associates. He was member of the Gid3eons and a past board member of Sunshine Children's Home in Maumee.

He his survived by his wife; a son, Edward L., husband of Lila, of Wauseon; three daughters, Sharon Evers and her husband, Vernon, Kathleen Grieser and her husband, Dave, and Bev Miller, all of Wauseon; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Lester of Glendale, Ariz., Cletus and Lewis, both of Wauseon; and a sister, Annagene Evers of Wauseon.

Services were held May 5 at North Clinton Mennonite Church, with Earl Stuckey and Roy Bucher officiating. Burial was in Pettisville Cemetery.
