FRIEND OF CHILDREN DIED AT KALONA, IA. AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Kalona, Iowa. — Funeral services were held at the Fernandis Bontrager home near here for John J. Miller, 81, widely known resident of the Amish community who died at his home after being bedfast for a year and a half.

For 20 years Bro. Miller and wife Barbara edited the Junior department of the “Herold der Warheit” and were known to many children as "Uncle John and Aunt Barbara.” Their marriage union lasted for over 57 years.

Over 700 relatives and friends attended the final services. Survivors include his wife, one daughter and two sons, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
