JOHN A. MILLER

John Alexander Miller was born at Richards, Colo. June 6, 1913, and went to be with his Lord when he suddenly met death in a logging accident on Sept. 11, 1959, at the age of 46 years, two months, and five days.

He was united in marriage to Mildred E. Lais on April 29, 1939. To this union were born four sons, Robin, Frank, Philip, and Timothy, and one daughter, Maxine. He and his wife lived in the Molalla community until 1944 when they moved to Sweet Home where they have since resided.

John was a patient, loving husband and father. He made many friends and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed in the home, church and community.

He accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 16, and was faithful in the service of the Lord until his death.

In May of 1954 he was ordained as an elder of the Church of Christ, which now meets at Highway 20 East, Sweet Home, Oregon.

He is survived by his loving companion, Mildred; four sons and one daughter; his aged father, Martin Miller of Campo, Colo.; six brothers, Monroe of Campo, Raymond and Martin of Kismet, Kansas, Ben of Lebanon, Roy of Canby, Ore., and Howard of Crawfordeville [sic Crawfordsville], Ore.; four sisters, Mary Adams of Stipek, Mont., Iva Litke of Portland, Ore., Cleo Litke and Frances Brown of Campo, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, who passed away in October 1955.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 15 at the Church of Christ, Sweet Home, Ore., by Pastor Warren Vassey. Interment was made in Gilliland Cemetery at Sweet Home, Oregon.
