JACOB J. L. MILLER

Jacob J. L. Miller, son of John S. and Lizzie (Barkman) Miller, was born April 25, 1900, in Holmes County, Ohio.

In his youth he moved to Erie County, New York, where he was united in matrimony to Moda J. Miller, daughter of John P. and Sarah (Schrock) Miller, on March 31, 1926. They moved to LaGrange County, Ind. in 1933, and to Elkhart County in 1948.

He died Nov. 8, 1958, at the Goshen General Hospital, where he was taken upon his sudden illness. He suffered a stroke Oct. 19, and was sick two weeks and six days.

He united with the Old Order Amish church at the age of 17, and later united with the Conservative Mennonite Church to which he remained faithful till death. The length of his life was 58 years, six months and 14 days. His mother and one daughter, Sarah Ellen, preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Moda; five sons and one daughter, John Ray of LaGrange, Fannie Marie, Mrs. Vernon Christner of Shipshewana, Jacob Atlee of Middlebury, Ervin William of Goshen, Edward Lee, in the Armed Forces, and Joseph Nelson at home; seven grandchildren, his aged father, one sister and two brothers.
